Here we are. Election day is tomorrow. Along with anticipation and hope, I’m feeling a little dread. I’m anxious about the outcome.
Are you? Here’s how I’m dealing with my anxiety. I’m trusting the Universe.
Did you know, the outcome is already decided?
Hear me out. I know it sounds strange. In a metaphysical sense, this election’s outcome is already decided. I don’t mean we shouldn’t vote—our choices matter. But from a spiritual perspective, the unfolding of events is part of a greater pattern, something we might call destiny, fate, or divine timing. This doesn’t make our choices irrelevant. It means that however things play out, they’re meant to take us somewhere we need to go.
Just imagine: what if the universe (or whatever you like to call it) has already written this chapter of our collective story? It doesn’t mean every detail is planned, but maybe the energy and the lessons in this outcome are part of our journey. Sometimes, embracing this idea takes the edge off our anxiety. It reminds us that we’re part of something larger, something that knows how to get us where we need to be.
Why This Moment Matters, No Matter the Outcome
One thing that brings me comfort is knowing that everything happening now—the hopes, the fears, the discussions—is stirring something awake within us. Even though the result is “decided” on some cosmic level, what we’re experiencing today matters. This journey, this energy, is moving us toward something new.
The Power of Letting Go
At this point, I’ve done everything I could to affect the outcome of this election. Nothing I say or do right now will make a difference. It’s time to let it go.
A lot of our stress comes from feeling like if we don’t control every single thing, it will all go wrong. But there’s freedom in letting go, even a little. By releasing the urge to control the outcome, we’re not giving up. We’re stepping into a kind of trust—trust in the process, in our resilience, and in the journey that’s meant for us. Letting go a bit today can help us approach tomorrow with an open heart and a steady mind.
Imagine letting your mind release its grip on “what if this happens?” or “what if that happens?” Just for a moment, breathe deeply and consider that none of these outcomes are ultimately wrong. They’re just different doors that will open new paths, new lessons, and new growth.
The Universe Knows the Way
The best way for me to let go of my anxiety is to trust in the process of the universe’s wisdom.
I feel comfort in the idea the universe has a higher intelligence, a way of guiding us through both dark and bright times. While things may feel chaotic on the surface, there’s a kind of cosmic harmony underneath it all, a balance that always finds its way back. We see it in nature’s rhythms, in life’s cycles, or in our own growth, we’re surrounded by evidence that things unfold in ways that move us forward.
When we step into that voting booth tomorrow, we’re making our choices, yes. But the larger course? It’s already set. We’re participating in a dance as old as humanity, an ebb and flow where the universe balances change with stability, guiding us even when we can’t see it.
Trusting in Our Collective Journey
No matter what happens tomorrow, we’re on this journey together. Our choices may feel polarized now, but at the core, we’re all seeking a better world. Let’s remember that we’re part of a much bigger picture, one that’s ultimately moving toward greater understanding, compassion, and growth.
So, take a deep breath, and let yourself trust. Trust in the outcome, trust in the lessons, and trust in your own power to bring positive energy into the world, regardless of who sits in office. Because in the end, we’re here to grow together, to learn together, and to create a future that reflects the best of who we are.
Here’s to facing tomorrow with a calm heart and an open mind. We’ve got this.
